Maya, This is Africa! Just behind my house there is the High Ridge Primary School where the local children go and it looks so similar to the one in your pictures and there too on Sundays, a shamiana comes up with preaching, prayers and sometimes, plays happening.
And oh yes, things are expensive here, more than India or America as almost everything is imported.
I envy you as you will have a more richer experience with Africa since you are teaching and interacting with the locals on a more intimate level. Good to read your updates. I, for one, follow them, more to compare Ghana with Kenya.
